Respect and care for the community of life and what this means for educators
1. Respect Earth and life in all its diversity.
This means that we as educators need to teach our students about the diversity of the world and that everything in the world is important and therefore we need to take care of it, including human beings, animals, plants and our eco system etc. We need to be informing our students about the earth and how valuable it is.
2. Care for the community of life with understanding, compassion, and love.
We need to ensure our teaching not only informs our students but also educates about ethics and values such as compassion, love, care etc, so in the future they may use these values to prevent environmental harm and create a sustainable future.
3. Build democratic societies that are just, participatory, sustainable, and peaceful
Students need to be given the opportunity to develop an ecological responsibility for the earth and our society.
4. Secure Earth's bounty and beauty for present and future generations.
We need to educate our students and bring forth a passion and love for the environment so they may work towards creating a suitable future, not just for themselves but also other future generations. This involves educating students towards suitability through water, pollution, wastage and an overall care for the environment
